DEPARTMENT CHARACTERISTICS: 

The Trumann Fire Department is a combination department consisting of 6 full-time firefighters and 14 volunteer firefighters. The department operates from two stations and cover approximately 90 square miles, including the City of Trumann and surrounding Poinsett County areas. The second fire station houses reserve equipment. Trumann Fire Department has Mutual-Aid Agreements with surrounding fire departments.

ISO RATING TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Company: 20 hours/month as described in Career and Volunteer Training

Officers: Additional 12 hours/year in Multiple Company Training, Leadership Training, Management Training, and Executive Skills.

This training is required for the Trumann Fire Department to receive Arkansas ACT 833 disbursements for equipment purchases.

In addition, a minimum of 16 hours/pear of approved training through Arkansas Fire Academy.

EQUIPMENT:

(4) Pumpers, (1) Ariel Pumper, (1) Brush Truck with a total pumping capacity of 5,250 gallons per minute.

Specialized equipment: Thermal Imaging Camera and (2) Fire Finders

All personnel are equipped with Personal Protective Equipment meeting or exceeding current NAPA standards.

COMMUNICATIONS:

Trumann Fire Department operates on a Tone/Voice Paging system to alert all firefighters of any type of emergency.

Trumann Fire Department can page from the central station, the police station, and units or hand-held radios.

Both the Trumann Fired Department and the Trumann Police Department can initiate the Tornado Warning System for Trumann.

PRE-FIRE PLANNING INSPECTIONS:

Trumann Fire Department conducts pre-fire planning inspections of each commercial, industrial, institutional, and habitational building (over 4-family apartments) at least twice per year.

FIRE CHIEF:

Chief Revis Kemper was hired as the Trumann Fire Department Chief in 2015. Chief Kemper graduated from Trumann High School and has an Associate Degree in general studies. He is a Certified Fire Marshall through the State of Arkansas and a member of the International Associated of Arson Investigators. He is also a Certified Fire Inspector and an Adjunct Instructor for the Arkansas Fire Training Academy.
